God’s grace and peace be with you.
As we move toward Election Day, I want to take a moment to speak to something important. Voting touches both who we are as followers of Jesus and who we are as citizens of this country.
Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.” Leadership matters. It matters to God, and it matters to the people whose lives are shaped by it.
In a country where we have the privilege of choosing our leaders, our vote is not a small thing. It is a stewardship.
For much of church history, many believers had little or no say in who governed them. We do. That is a gift, and like every gift God gives us, it comes with responsibility.
As Christians, we are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13–16). We are called to seek the good of the place where God has put us (Jeremiah 29:7). We are also called to pray for those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1–4).
Voting is one tangible way we live out that prayer. It is one way we seek the good of our neighbors, our city, our nation, and the generations coming after us.

I want to be clear. King of Kings is not here to tell you who to vote for. That is between you, your conscience, and God. What we do want to say plainly is this: please vote.
Pray over it. Study the candidates and the issues. Ask God for wisdom, as James 1:5 encourages us to do. Then participate with humility, conviction, and love for your neighbor.
We have been given a voice that many people throughout history did not have, and many people around the world still do not have. May we use that voice thoughtfully, prayerfully, and faithfully.
So here is my encouragement to you: pray for our nation, pray for wisdom as you vote, and pray for whoever is elected, regardless of who that is. Pray that God would raise up leaders who seek justice, love mercy, and serve with humility. Pray that the Church would remain faithful to Jesus in every season.
