Service of Remembering

December 5, 3PM

During this special season, you will have time to remember your loved ones who have passed, to worship and find renewed hope in our God, and to fellowship with others who have also lost loved ones. The service is 3-4PM with a time for fellowship at 4-5PM.

Mother-Daughter Retreat: God’s Design for His Daughters

November 5-6

November 5-6, participate in our mother-daughter retreat: God’s Design For His Daughters. The retreat takes place in The Haven for girls in grades five and six joined by their moms or sponsors. Girls will learn what it means to be a daughter of The King. This retreat will tackle tough issues like puberty, body image, and sex. Cost is $60.00 per mom/daughter team and includes dinner Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, and a blessing object.

Surviving the Holidays

November 13

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated? Join us Saturday, November 13 from 9AM – 11:30AM in The Gathering Room at King of Kings Church for our Surviving the Holidays seminar. Cost is $5 and includes your workbook.

Our Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. You’ll learn:

  • How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
  • What to do about traditions and other coming changes
  • Helpful tips for surviving social events
  • How to discover hope for your future

Alzheimer’s Support Group

Join Anytime

Thursday, October 7, King of Kings began a new series of Alzheimer’s Support sessions designed for people who support a person(s) with Alzhimers. This ongoing group meets the first Thursday of every month in the CORE Conference Room from 6:45PM – 8:15PM. Facilitators Greg Frerichs and Glenda Herzberg have been trained by the Alzheimer’s Association to teach and lead these sessions.  Sessions stand alone, so join us any month. Attend and/or invite others to attend, as this group is open to the public at no cost.

Forgiving Challenge

Forgiving Challenge began Sunday, October 3. In this 40-day journey, you will discover what real freedom is like as we explore the powerful forgiveness that Jesus offers to each and every person, including you!

Go deeper with Forgiving Challenge small groups, meeting on Wednesdays beginning October 6. Each night will have dinner at 5:30PM and continue with a video and discussion at 6:30PM. Confirmation and Kids Kamp are also available.

Forgiving Challenge Books are available for pick up on Sundays at the Next Steps Room or Monday-Thursday, 8AM-5PM. Books are $10, and 100% of proceeds go to RISE. RISE offers in-prison programming, job, and life skills training to help individuals with criminal histories find freedom from cycles of incarceration.

Mission Room Update

In the Mission Room, we gather items for many different organizations, as well as gather, sort, pack, and ship to the Orphan Grain Train (OGT) all year long. Please bring donations of clothing and shoes (all seasons & sizes), bedding, medical supplies, etc., to the Church office anytime during the year.  Questions? Disney Elementary Serving Opportunities

Are you a consistent, caring adult looking to make a difference in the liveds of elementary children? We are excited to announce opportunities to serve at Disney Elementary giving one-on-one assistance with school work. Over the last year, we have seen great growth with this relationship. Cindy Scharff, Principal of Disney Elementary shared a need for volunteers. Looking for another opportunity? Disney Elementary is also in need of volunteers to help teachers with office work and people to serve at occasional school events. Opportunities vary in time commitment from one-time volunteering to weekly or somewhere in between.
