Baptism is the powerful connection of water with God’s Word that blesses us with God’s grace and forgiveness. When we are baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we receive a new identity, becoming children of God. Being baptized with water indicates that we should, by daily repentance, drown the old sinful nature within us so that we can rise up and walk in the newness of life. (Key passages: Matthew 28:19; Titus 3:5-8; Romans 6:4) Learn more about baptism by watching our series Baptized.
Easy! We are currently scheduling private baptisms that will take place at King of Kings, as well as opening baptisms up in homes with pastoral authorization. The current health situation surrounding COVID-19 makes it more difficult to baptize in our usual ways. Learn more about the theology of baptism, and how baptism at home, will work in this document.
We are 100% behind you if you wish to renew your baptism. We don’t call it a “re-baptism” since we believe that baptism is a one-time event and that God works powerfully in that baptism. However, as Pastor Mark has shared before, he renews his baptism every morning using the prayer on this page, reminding himself that because he is baptized, he is a child of God. If you wish to renew and celebrate what God did in your baptism, you are more than welcome to let us know you’re interested.
