Join Hand of Hope for a ministry of disaster relief

We have a great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we head out on a Hand of Hope mission trip for disaster relief. In our southernmost trip yet, we will have the opportunity to serve in Grand Isle, Louisiana, aiding those affected by Hurricane Ida. This category four hurricane struck the area in August of 2021, destroying between 40% – 50% of the homes.

Grand Isle is the only populated Barrier Island in Louisiana and the 7-mile island is home to 1,400 residents. The community is picking itself up as they transition from clean-up to rebuilding and individuals with a vision have stood up to form their own “Operation Mustard Seed,” hosting volunteers and helping their neighbors.

We will be hosting two trips:

  • February 25 – March 4, (Omaha and Sioux City volunteers)
  • March 4 – 11, (primarily Morningside University football players from Sioux City)

Hand of Hope Omaha will be supporting caravan transportation and waiving ALL fees for those who opt to fly into New Orleans thrn drive to Grand Isle.

If you have even a small interest in participating, please let us know so we can include you in upcoming informational meetings.
