Join us for City Serve
City Serve is an annual opportunity for churches across Omaha and the surrounding communities to unite and unleash unprecedented love and compassion in our city. This year, City Serve will be a weeklong event, beginning on Friday, September 18, and ending on Saturday, September 26. King of Kings will partner with Open Door Mission, American Red Cross, Care Corps LifeHouse, Heartland Hope Mission, Disney Elementary School, and other organizations to provide service opportunities throughout the week.

Registration and Projects: You can easily register for your favorite project online—click here to jump right in! If you want that awesome t-shirt, sign up by Sunday, September 13. No worries if you miss it; you can still join the fun, but t-shirts might be limited. Plus, some projects fill up fast, so don’t wait!

2026 City Serve Partners
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. They aspire to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter, and hope.
Care Corps Thriftology & LifeHouse
Care Corps’ LifeHouse provides shelter, homeless prevention services, and five supportive housing programs. We also offer wrap-around case management services and life skills training. LifeHouse also provides food security to the community through its food pantry and thrift store, Thriftology.
Heartland Hope Mission
Heartland Hope Mission helps working low-income families by providing them with some of life’s most basic staples, including a week’s supply of food, clothing, hygiene items, SNAP assistance, community referrals, and job resources. Heartland Hope Mission is a faith-based organization offering Bible studies and prayer.
Open Door Mission
The Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring hope for lasting change. Their vision is to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty in our city.
Disney Elementary School
Disney Elementary is in the Millard Public School District, a partner school of the King of Kings’ Millard Campus. It has 380 students, 65 staff, and three classrooms per grade.
FurEver Home, Inc.
FurEver Home, Inc. is an animal rescue located in Fremont, Nebraska. Their team of volunteers is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners through adoptions, fostering, owner support, training, and education.
Howard Elementary School
Howard Elementary is in the Fremont Public School District and is a partner of the King of Kings’ Fremont Campus. It has about 300 students and 40 staff members.
Heart Ministry Center
The Heart Ministry Center programs guide people along a personal journey leading to individualized breakthroughs, permanent transformations, and dignified change by providing a way forward to people severely affected by poverty in the Omaha area. They offer a food distribution program, a healthcare clinic, a job placement program, and a laundromat to help bring change to the families, volunteers, supporters, and this community.
Omaha Fire & Police Departments
The Omaha Fire and Police Departments comprise a diverse group of men and women who strive to keep Omaha a safe, family-friendly city.
Standing Bear Elementary School
Standing Bear Elementary School is part of the Omaha Public School district and is a partner school with King of Kings’ Northwest Omaha campus. The school offers programs in Gifted and Talented, Special Education, English as a Second Language, and Speech. Five hundred sixty students attend pre-kindergarten through grade 5.
