Hey, you. Yes, you there. I’m talking to you.
You, who is spending your morning scrolling through your chosen social media site to avoid the work you don’t want to tackle.
You, who is snacking on your problems instead of confronting them.
You, who is struggling with something but too proud to ask for help for fear of looking weak.
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” – Isaiah 43:1-3
You, who is feeling smothered by debt or lust or anxiety or pain.
You, who is too timid to show your true self for fear of being shunned or made fun of or left alone.
You, who is killing yourself slowly with over-scheduling because you are too fearful to look unwilling.
You, who is lashing out at others because you cannot find peace in yourself.
You, who is compounding lies to cover for past mistakes instead of admitting your own shortcomings.
You, who is drowning yourself trying to be an anchor for others.
You, who is breaking your fingers holding on so tightly to past grudges.
You, who is too busy criticizing everyone else’s mistakes to admit or account for your own.
You, who is too scared of being hurt again that you won’t share your heart with others.
You, who is placing priority on things and not people.
You, who is too concerned your house is not nice enough to invite friends over even though you crave social interactions.
You, who is so certain you aren’t good enough that you refuse to try.
You, who is feeling alone even when surrounded by people.
You, who is swimming in suffering but cannot see the shore.
You, who cannot find the joy that you used to in your daily life.
You, who, when you take a moment to stop and look at your life, cannot figure out just how you got to where you are or just how to get back to where you want to be.
Hey, you. Yeah, you. You are not alone. I have been you. I will be you. I am you. And right now, I am talking to you. And I am telling you what God has told me, what He has told us.
Do you hear that? You are His. You are not alone. You can do this. You are enough.
Hey, you. Yeah, you. You got it? Good.
Now tell another you.
