Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience centered on God’s love for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Friday, February 10, 2023, thousands will come together around the world to honor those with disabilities.
What to Expect
Our honored guests will experience an unforgettable evening starting with a red carpet, dinner, dance floor, gift bag, photo booth, limo rides, and so much more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Night to Shine will be held in-person this year at King of Kings Church on February 10 from 6PM – 9PM. There will also be a virtual option that you can choose on the registration form if you prefer to participate from home.
Night to Shine is an event designed for teens and adults with special needs, ages 14 and older.

Yes! If you would prefer to participate in a virtual option, you can choose that on the registration form. There is no limit to the number of people who can participate virtually.
We will be offering pulled pork sliders, boneless chicken wings, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and green beans, along with dessert options. If you have any food allergies, please be sure to note them on your registration.
Of course! We wouldn’t have it any other way. You can register to stay onsite during the event where you will be treated to dinner, fun, and an inside look at the dance through Livestream. Or you can drop your child off and enjoy an evening out!

Volunteer Roles
Participate in any additional activities, including karaoke, with the guests. Encourage them and maintain a fun atmosphere. (entire evening)
Accompany and assist assigned guest throughout the evening, providing companionship and any assistance they may need throughout the event. Sit with their guest during dinner and engage with them in conversation. Volunteer buddies need to be 16 years or older. (entire evening)
Greet buddies, give them their nametags or lanyards, and direct them to their team leader for a pre-event meeting on ensuring their assigned honored guest has the best prom experience possible. (4-6PM)
Greet guests, take their coats, label, and hang them. As guests leave, ask for their names and retrieve their coats. The coat check area will also serve as the Lost and Found for the evening. (entire evening)
Monitor the dance floor and perimeter to make sure there are no “wallflowers.” Invite them to dance and engage with them. (entire evening)
Constantly “float” around the main event space, kitchen, restrooms, and outdoors to assist wherever an extra hand is needed. (entire evening)
Assist florists with unloading and properly laying out corsages and boutonnieres. Help guests select their flowers and help pin on their flowers. (5-7PM)
Assist caterer with food preparation and set up food and beverages in the main event space and respite room.
Serve food to guests in main event space and respite room (for parents or caretakers). Be knowledgeable about the items and assist guests in finding what they would like to eat, especially if they have dietary restrictions.
Manage gifts and help each guest collect their favors to take home. (8-9:30PM)
Warmly greet guests, sign them in, give them their nametag or lanyard, and answer any questions that they may have. (5-7PM)
Arrive at the designated time and assist the set-up team with the salon area. Welcome each guest to a salon station for hair and makeup or to a seat for a shoeshine. Chat with them while you pamper them and make them feel special. (entire evening)
Assist guest and their buddies in and out of limos throughout the evening. Visit with them while they are in line and coordinate numbers for limo rides. (entire evening)
Assist uniformed professional EMT personnel at the event by providing basic first aid and care for medical needs or emergencies. (entire evening)
Assist and announce guests as they make their way down the red carpet, manage flow and traffic, and cheer them on to make them feel welcome. (5-7PM)
Love the parents/caretakers by serving food, spending time getting to know them, and being available for prayer. (entire evening)
Spend time with guests who may have become overstimulated on the dance floor or in the other areas of the prom. Interact with them by participating in sensory activities, singing, or listening to calming music. Or simply provide them with quiet time. (entire evening)
Arrive at the designated time and execute event set-up.

Take down decorations, tables, and chairs, and clean up after the event. (9-10:30PM)
Assist guests as they exit vehicles and help them find the registration area. Be available as guests return to their vehicles from the event. (5-6:30PM and 8:30-9:30PM)
Greet volunteers, give them their nametags or lanyards, and direct them to their team leaders. (4:30-6:30PM)
