Job Details
You provide proactive, Christ-centered leadership in partnership with the Millard Campus Director of Kids Ministry by providing resources, support, and volunteer coordination in Kids Ministry for grades 1-5. You will be entrusted to help empower children, volunteer ministry partners, and parents to actively pursue our mission: “We transform lives with and through the power of Christ as we connect with God, each other, and the world.”

Job Responsibilities
General
- Uphold the mission of King of Kings to transform lives through connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to the World.
- Be fully committed to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and its implementation at King of Kings Lutheran Church. Hold fast to the mission and support King of Kings Leadership in following Jesus, the Head of the Church.
- Be reliant on Him in prayer, authentic in our relationship with each other, courageous in serving Him, generous, and love others to impact the world in ways He has uniquely called us to serve Him here at King of Kings.
Primary
- Ensure Sunday morning is a great experience for kids, parents, and volunteers.
- Assist with Wednesday night programming.
- Greet, engage, and connect with kids and families.
- Execute Vacation Bible School (VBS) with Kids Ministry staff.
- Adapt lessons to fit the needs of kids’ ministry departments.
- Supply curriculum needs and resources
- Oversee room set-up and break-down, signs, and facility-readiness, communicating closely with maintenance staff.
- Provide support and assist with special events (i.e. Back to School, Night2Shine, etc.)
- Schedule, recruit, and train volunteers.
- Regularly communicate with volunteers and staff.
- Provide resourcing and support to other multi-site campuses.
- Support and resource the Game Room area.
- Schedule, plan, and execute large group teaching time for grades 1-5.
Education
Minimum Requirement
- High School Diploma.
Preferred Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree
Qualifications
- Must be a spiritually mature Christian, diligently committed to discipleship and to the mission, vision, and core values of King of Kings.
- Be or become a member of King of Kings Church, fully committed to its vision, mission, strategy, and core values.
- A passion for making disciples that make disciples.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Effective communication skills with adults and children.
- Experience in education or children’s ministry.
- LCMS training preferred.
- Understand the centrality of multiplying ministry partners in every ministry.
- A willingness to cooperate in a multi-staff ministry is required.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, organization, cognitive, and teamwork skills required.
