Do you have a passion for leading worship and helping the next generation grow in their faith? We’re looking for a Director of Worship & Next Gen to lead worship, student ministry, and support Kids Ministry at the Fremont Campus. This role helps create meaningful opportunities for all generations to connect with God, each other, and the world through worship, discipleship, and community.

Job Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities

  • Uphold the mission of King of Kings to transform lives through connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to the world.
  • Be fully committed to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and its implementation at King of Kings Church. This includes holding fast the core mission and supporting the leadership of King of Kings as that leadership follows Jesus, the Head of the Church.
  • Be reliant on Him in prayer, be authentic in our relationship with each other, be courageous in serving Him, and be generous and love others to impact the world in ways He has uniquely called us to serve.
  • Serve as primary worship leader of the congregation and primary developer of worship leaders.
  • Oversee and coordinate the creation and planning of all seasonal events, including Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Easter, with direction from the Central Worship Director and Campus Director.
  • Support Worship Department members in recruitment, direction, oversight, and care of all worship volunteers.
  • Facilitate worship leadership for campus-specific events.
  • Oversee Planning Center Online (PCO), music, and production elements.
  • Provide support as necessary to the worship ministries of other departments.
  • Complete all other responsibilities as agreed upon with the Central Worship Director and Campus Director.
  • Lead Student Ministry including middle school and high school.
  • Develop a vibrant student worship culture.
  • Plan and execute Student Nights.
  • Develop and build relationships with students and families.

Worship Responsibilities (16-18 hrs/week)

  • Serve as the primary developer of volunteers for Student Ministries and Student Connect Groups.
  • Manage communication, coordination, and follow-up for Student Ministries.
  • Coordinate and align with the Central Director of Next Gen.
  • Complete all other responsibilities as agreed upon with the Central Director of Next Gen and Campus Director.
  • Maintain the Kids Ministry environment in preparation for all Sundays and Wednesday evenings when in session.
  • Assist in recruiting and supporting Kids Ministry volunteers.
  • Ensure safety, curriculum, and classroom readiness for all Sundays and Wednesday nights when in session.
  • Coordinate with the Central Director of Next Gen and Central Resourcing to ensure supplies for Kids Ministry are in place for Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • Complete all other responsibilities as agreed upon with the Central Director of Next Gen and Campus Director.

Student Responsibilities (18 hrs/week)

  • Lead Student Ministry including Middle & High School
  • Develop a vibrant student worship culture.
  • Plan and execute Student Nights
  • Develop and build relationships with students and families.
  • Primary developer of volunteers for Student Ministries and Student Connect Groups.
  • Manage communication, coordination, and follow-up for Student Ministries
  • Coordinate and align with Central Director of Next Gen.
  • All other responsibilities as agreed upon with the Central Director of Next Gen & Campus Director.

Kids Ministry (5-6 hrs/week)

  • Maintain Kids Ministry environment in preparation for all Sundays and Wednesday evenings, when in session.
  • Assist in recruiting and supporting Kids Ministry volunteers.
  • Ensure safety, curriculum, and classroom readiness for all Sundays and Wednesday nights, when in session.
  • Coordinate with Central Next Gen Director and Central Resourcing to ensure that supplies for Kids Ministry are in place for Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • All other responsibilities as agreed upon with the Central Director of Next Gen & Campus Director.

Qualifications

  • Profess and/or adhere to the Confessional standards set forth in Article III of the Constitution of King of Kings Church
  • Be a spiritually mature Christian committed to discipleship and the mission, vision, and core values of King of Kings
  • Maintain a consistent personal devotion and prayer life
  • Have the heart of a worshiper and lead people into God’s presence through worship
  • Demonstrate strong instrumental and vocal abilities
  • Work effectively within a multiple-staff ministry environment
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organization, discernment, and cognitive skills
  • Understand generational differences and the impact of modern and postmodern worldviews on worship
  • Participate in and help lead King of Kings Fremont community events
  • Meet regularly with the Campus Director, Central Worship Director, Fremont Campus Team, and church staff during Tuesday Rev meetings

Education

Minimum Requirement
  • Five (5) years’ proven leadership experience in areas of worship and music.
Preferred Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in music or divinity plus five (5) years’ of proven leadership experience in areas of worship and music.
  • Experience with Student and Kids Ministry.
