The Communications Coordinator helps tell the story of King of Kings across all campuses. In this role, you’ll create engaging content, manage key communication channels, and equip ministry teams with tools and best practices. If you love writing, design, and helping others communicate with clarity, this position blends creativity and collaboration to make a real impact.

Job Responsibilities

General

  • Uphold the mission of King of Kings to transform lives through connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to the World.
  • Be fully committed to the Great Commission, (Matthew 28:18-20), and its implementation at King of Kings Lutheran Church. Hold fast to the mission and support King of Kings Leadership in following Jesus, the Head of the Church.
  • Be reliant on Him in prayer, be authentic in our relationship with each other, be courageous in serving Him, and be generous and love others to impact the world in ways He has uniquely called us to serve Him here at King of Kings.
  • Required to serve at four all-in events (Christmas, Easter, and two campus-specific events).

Primary

  • Copywriting, including rewriting communication requests from other departments into brand-consistent copy.
  • Create and send central emails and SMS, and provide support for campuses as they handle their own.
  • Website content updates and event page creation, removing outdated information in a timely manner.
  • Manage and create content for central church profiles (Instagram, Facebook, etc.), including reels, stories, and feed posts that showcase our personality and give people a glimpse inside our doors.
  • Capture and highlight stories of attenders and staff to share the heart of our church community.
  • Provide coaching for campuses as they implement social media and email strategies, sharing feedback and best practices as needed.
  • Create and manage Facebook Events for upcoming church activities .
  • Assist with proofing design assets in ClickUp for accuracy and clarity, ensuring content is aligned with our brand voice and engages our community in meaningful ways.
  • Adapt existing designs for different formats or mediums as needed.
  • Schedule communication for digital signage and our app.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Education

Preferred Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

Minimum Requirement

  • 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing, or design.

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Must be a practicing Christian, with a desire to grow spiritually.
  2. Align with purpose and values of King of Kings Church
  3. Abide by staff values
  4. Attend weekly meetings and check-ins with supervisor
  5. Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail
  6. Experience creating and scheduling content for Instagram and Facebook
  7. Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms
  8. Experience with bulk email tools such as MailChimp or Constant Contact
  9. Proficiency with macOS and design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with excellence
  11. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
