God is generous. He gives us Jesus. He pours out His Holy Spirit. He sends us out. Why? So we also would be generous with this Good News of Jesus! We will give it with all the love of Jesus as we minister to the whole person, here and across the globe.
When we at King of Kings work together with our global partners, we experience two-way transformation. We both are shaped by the generous movement of God to transform lives. Here’s one story that’s personal to me.
Partnering with John Peter of India Transformed goes back to the early 2000s. In those years, we took trips to India to help them adapt our Kids Kount curriculum to their cultural context. In 2003 John Peter was visiting us. He and I took a drive up to Norfolk to visit Orphan Grain Train (OGT). OGT had declined his previous request for help in India because it was so hard to get items through borders without paying bribes. They also didn’t know if John Peter was a credible ministry partner. Once John Peter had a personal introduction through us, he and the director soon became trusted partners.
When we at King of Kings work together with our global partners, we experience two-way transformation.
The next year OGT prepared two large shipping containers with clothes, donated items for the home, and relief supplies. It was shipped to India but ended up sitting in the port waiting for bribes to be paid before being unloaded. John Peter wouldn’t pay the bribes, so the containers just sat. Then in 2004, the tsunami hit and devasted the Indian coastline. Immediately the authorities released the containers and relief supplies were sent to the devasted areas.
One of the villages helped was Pappakoil. It was totally destroyed. Our trucks were sent, and we provided food, clothing, medical relief, and more. Our ministry continued after the crisis, and we started a children’s work in this village of the lowest caste, the Dalits. As the years went by, the love of Jesus continued to be shared. Most of the village had come to faith in Christ. Cheryl and I sponsored a child named Alex and got to watch him grow. The village had one framed house that was large enough to host our school. India Transformed rented it, but the owner would not even let the students or the teachers use the indoor toilet. Why? Because they were Dalits, the lowest caste. Something had to be done.
Generous members from King of Kings sponsored the building of a new facility that will now be a community center for the entire village.

The first floor will house the children’s work. A second floor provides for ARISE Women’s Empowerment. A third floor houses the Community Transformation Training. This facility has begun construction and will be completed next year. But there’s more. We are building a college in Bangalore that will make college education available for the poor and marginalized.
Generous members from King of Kings sponsored the building of a new facility that will now be a community center for the entire village.
I can even promise my sponsored child, that finances will not prevent him from college. If he applies himself, he can go on to learn medical fields, technology, business, education, or more. Dalits aren’t taught to think this way. But this is a whole new life and new trajectory for Alex and so many others from his village. This is the generosity of God who gives new life, new hope and new futures. And he does it through us! Thank you for your generosity!
