God
Key Passage: Habakkuk 2:2-3
“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end – it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.
Group
Have 2-3 members share takeaways from their GO last week.
- What’s something you had to work hard at over a long period of time before you saw results?
- What do you remember about the waiting during that period? How did it make you feel?
- Do you feel like you’re just waiting for God to do something with your life? Or do you feel God has given you great direction?
- In the Gospels, Jesus asks 305 questions, and not one of them begins with “when.” Does God not care about the when?
- What does it look like to “actively wait”, especially when it comes to your spiritual life?
- When you look back at your life, what are some ways that God prepared you to be exactly where you are right now (relationally, professionally, spiritually, etc.)?
- How does recognizing God’s previous activity in your life make you feel about your future?
- Have you ever considered what your personal mission statement would be? If so, what is it? If not, what might it be?
Go
- Write down your personal mission statement, then brainstorm ways to actively live it out this week?
- What can you do this week to “actively wait” and prepare yourself for God’s plan for your life?
