Scripture for Review:

John 18:36
John 19:10-11
John 13:34-35

What is your favorite city? Why?

Questions for Discussion: Please discuss one, or more, of the following questions.
  1. In John 18:36, Jesus says, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Why is it important to re-center ourselves in this way of thinking, embracing our identity in God’s Kingdom at this time of our lives?
  2. Read John 13:34-35. It is easy to love others when they are like us, and not as easy to love those who are different. Share about a time when you overcame the challenge of loving someone different than yourself.  How did it impact you?
  3. Tyler shared a new term, catastrophization, which is the concept of declaring everything a catastrophe, or far worse than it is in real life. Where have you seen this in your own life? Based on the scripture readings, what are one or two practical steps that you can take to avoid this thought process?
  4. To avoid catastrophization, we must identify the difference between what we can control and what we cannot control. To do this, we must recognize this is not our kingdom, but God’s kingdom. How can you take a step this week to trust more fully in God?

Share a praise and a request with the group. Thank the Lord for the blessings from this past week.
