Small Groups Weekly Bible Study – April 13

Easter Sunday 2020:For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

Theme: Jesus – The Only Living LORD

 Warm-Up Questions:

  1. In what specific ways has the coronavirus impacted your life?
  2. What is one thing that stood out to you from Pastor Greg’s sermon?
  3. Describe what was for you a truly “Life-Changing Moment.”

Observation and Interpretation Questions: 

Read 1 Timothy 2:3-6. ONLY.

  1. Why is it essential that we understand God’s desire for all people (verses 3-4)?
  2. What does Paul remind us of that is of utmost importance (verse 5)?
  3. For whom does Paul say, Jesus gave Himself as a ransom (verse 6)?
  4. How might keeping this in mind help you with a specific thing in your life?

Read Hebrews 9:24-28. LIVING

  1. Where has Jesus gone for us that He might represent us to God (verse 24)?
  2. Why does Jesus not have to die more than once to accomplish His goal (verses 25-26)?
  3. What is Jesus preparing to do sometime in the future (verses 27-28)?
  4. How might the truth of this passage be helpful to someone, you know?

Read Ephesians 1:19-21. LORD.

  1. What does Paul want you to understand about God’s power (verse 19)?
  2. What did God do to demonstrate His mighty power (verse 20)?
  3. Where has Jesus been seated, and what is the extent of His authority (verse 21)?
  4. How might understanding this about Jesus change the depth of your faith?

Application Questions:

  1. Where are you going to apply these three truths about Jesus to your life this week?
  2. What can you do to let Jesus’ Lordship transform the way you live out your faith?

Prayer:Heavenly Father, in these days after Easter, renew our commitment to Jesus, who is the Lord of our lives and who has eternally conquered the grave for us.

Talk and Pray with one another about how you can Join Jesus on His mission in your own lives this week, and pray for one another about any personal concerns or praises you have.
